NBDA and Fixture Lab Partner in the Largest Study Ever Conducted About the Specialty Bicycle Retailer Break-ins
The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) recently announced a partnership with Colorado-based company Fixture Lab to address the timely issue around Specialty Bicycle Retailer Break-ins. To learn firsthand how security is impacting retailers, the NBDA is asking all North American retailers to not only participate but share the survey with your network.
Every year, cycling retailers across the country lose thousands of dollars to after-hours theft. No bike shop can afford that. The NBDA has joined forces with Brian Hawkins, Owner of Fixture Lab, a leader in a proven fixture, design, and merchandising solutions for bicycle retailers, to first understand the problem and then come back with valuable solutions.
“I work alongside a lot of specialty retailers in the process of building the stores of their dreams, and it breaks my heart to see the livelihood of these stores threatened by theft…sometimes before the new store is even open for business! Every retailer is trying to protect themselves these days, but right now the process feels more like luck than good, strategic best practices. I’m hoping this effort will be a big leap toward offering all specialty retailers the juicy information and actionable insights to make a huge difference! It sucks that we need best practices for this topic, but here we are…it’s time for us to take this bull by the horns! I’m very excited to help lead the charge.” stated Hawkins.
Retailers are encouraged to be part of the solution by sharing and participating in the quick survey no later than Friday, May 28th.
The results from the survey will be shared in a retail roundtable; “Specialty Bicycle Retailer Security Reports and Measures Survey- Results and Solutions” scheduled for Friday, June 4th at 1 pm EST. Retailers are invited to join for an in-depth analysis of the Specialty Bicycle Retailer Security Reports and Measures Survey, as well as learn from Hawkins action steps to safeguard your business forward.
The live event is free for all bicycle retailers and will allow a chance for greater visibility on the issues, suggested action steps, and peer-to-peer conversation throughout. Those interested in attending can sign up to take part in the event via the NBDA website.
“The NBDA strives to take an active role in offering solutions to the many issues facing retailers now. This is just one of the many projects we are working on to bring valuable insight to your business” says NBDA President, Heather Mason.
