NBDA hosts Retailer Roundtable: The Importance of Bicycle Fit in the Current Retail Landscape
The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) has announced a retail roundtable event to take place September 29th, 2021 at 1:00 pm EST. The fit focused roundtable comes at a critical time when retailers are looking for ways to best position themselves to find extra margin and revenue sources given the supply challenges. NBDA President Heather Mason will moderate the event with industry experts Greg Robidoux PT, Executive Director of the Serotta International Cycling Institute, and Damon Wyatt, Brand Business Manager BikeFit.
Independent bike fitters and shop-based fitting programs provide a vital role in the success of the local bike shop in the current retail landscape. Not only can it bring needed additional revenue, but it also improves the overall cycling experience, reduces the risk of injury, and helps add to the customer journey.
“Bike fitting is a service that has reach and importance far beyond the simple (or sometimes not so simple) act of positioning a rider. It functions to improve the cycling experience, educate the customer as both rider and consumer, build the cycling community, and provide a viable additional revenue stream for the brick-and-mortar bike shop. Robust services including bike fitting will allow the brick-and-mortar bike shop to thrive in an ever changing and evolving retail landscape” states roundtable panel member Greg Robidoux PT.
The NBDA invites those already offering fit services or those who do not know where to begin to join in an in-depth conversation around the “why” of fit, how to get started, maximize profitability, and create a customer-centric experience.
